6WINDGate Software for eNodeB

6WIND provides an integrated Transport Plane software platform for LTE eNodeB equipment.

This solution comprises:

  • A high performance, low latency data plane capable of processing the aggregated trafic from a large number of users, while using limited hardware resources in order to optimize eNodeB cost and power consumption.
  • An integrated, optimized and complete transport plane solution with all required prototols: GTP-U, UDP, Firewall, QoS, IPv4, IPsec and Statistics. All the features are IPv6-ready.

The 6WINDGate transport plane solution maximizes the performance of packet processing in an eNodeB, thereby minimizing the overall latency of the user traffic and optimizing the system’s cost-per-user. It is available with optimized support for a range of multicore processors (click here to review the list of supported platforms).

The 6WINDGate transport plane platform is fully compatible with control plane and stacks, which include the protocols for communication with Mobililty Management Entity (MME) equipment and eNodeBs as well as L2 protocols for communication with End Users and eNodeBs. These protocols are available from 6WIND partners such as Aricent and Continuous Computing. Developers may also chose to use internally-developed stacks which interface to the 6WINDGate transport plane via standard Linux APIs.

6WINDGate Software for Home eNodeB Gateway

6WIND provides an integrated Transport Plane software platform for Home eNodeB Gateways.

This solution comprises:

  • A high performance, low latency and extensible data plane capable of processing the aggregated trafic from large numbers of eNodeBs.
  • An integrated, optimized and complete suite of protocols for eNodeB Gateway functions: GTP-U, SCTP to manage large numbers of eNodeBs, Firewall, QoS, IPv4, IPsec and Statistics. All the features are IPv6-ready.

The 6WINDGate transport plane solution maximizes the performance of packet processing in a Home eNodeB Gateway, thereby minimizing the overall latency of the user traffic and optimizing the system’s cost-per-user. 6WINDGate Software for Security Gateway

6WIND provides a complete, integrated software solution for Security Gateways.

This 6WINDGate solution comprises:

  • A high-capacity control plane IKE solution that maximizes the number of access points (femto-cells, pico-cells and/or eNodeBs) that can be supported by a single security gateway.
  • A high performance and low latency IPsec data plane using hardware crypto-engines to secure the aggregated traffic from all access points at wire speed.
  • An integrated suite of protocols for Security Gateway functions: Firewall, QoS, IPv4, IPv6-ready, IPsec, Routing, Virtual Routing, Mobile IP and Statistics.
  • Full support for High Availability (HA) frameworks.

The 6WINDGate control plane and data plane are fully scalable, both across heterogeneous processor architectures (e.g. different processor architectures used in the control plane and data plane) and also across multiple processors or multiple blades.

Full support is provided for both commercial and open-source High-Availability frameworks, enabling the development of Carrier Grade systems meeting zero downtime or five nines reliability requirements.

This 6WINDGate platform comprises:

  • An integrated, optimized and complete suite of protocols for PGW and SGW functions: L2 encapsulation including GTP-U, VLAN, Link Aggregation and GRE, Firewall, QoS, IPv4, IPsec, Routing, Virtual Routing, Mobile IP and Statistics. All the features are IPv6-ready.
  • A comprehensive control plane suite with full support for High Availability (HA) frameworks, together with all the required routing, security and mobility protocols.

The 6WINDGate control plane and data plane are fully scalable, both across heterogeneous processor architectures (e.g. different processor architectures used in the control plane and data plane) and also across multiple processors or multiple blades.

Full support is provided for both commercial and open-source High-Availability frameworks, enabling the development of Carrier Grade systems meeting zero downtime or five nines reliability requirements.

All the features are IPv6-ready.
  • A comprehensive control plane suite with full support for High Availability (HA) frameworks, together with all the required routing, security and mobility protocols.
