6WIND EMPOWERS STAER’S NEXT GENERATION OF EQUIPMENT FOR IP-BASED INDUSTRIAL AND COMMAND SYSTEMS WITH 6WINDGATE™ NETWORKING SOFTWARE PLATFORM

Paris, France and Rome, Italy, March 21, 2007 – 6WIND (www.6wind.com), leader in advanced embedded networking software, announced today that STAER (www.staer.it), a leading manufacturer in Remote Control Systems and Telecommunication Auxiliary Equipment has selected 6WINDGate™ networking software solution to empower its next-generation of equipment for IP-based Industrial and Command Systems. The 6WINDGate™ solution was chosen for its rich networking feature set and its sophisticated software architecture including XML-based management system that eases product customization. This solution will allow STAER to save development costs focusing on its market differentiators and significantly reduce time to market.

Industrial Control and Command systems are now migrating to benefit from the flexibility and improvements of IP such as QoS management, security, multicast, etc. Thanks to this new architecture, added value services such real-time traffic, voice and video surveillance over IP can be provided while reducing development, deployment and maintenance costs. For answering the new requirements of the market, STAER is leading development of a new generation of communication equipment based on IP and able to provide customised services for the Industrial Control and Command market including specific interfaces to legacy systems, dedicated real-time application and management services.
