Eric Carmès,
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Eric Carmès is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of 6WIND.
In this capacity, he drives the corporate strategy and growth. Eric
was previously Chief Operating Officer, responsible for driving
the company's technology vision and directs the quality assurance
of its research and development in line with its product and technology
roadmap. Eric's leadership in the strategic evolution and development
of innovative network architecture design has been instrumental
in the company being awarded eight patents. Bringing more that 15
years' experience in IP standards and architectures, he is an expert
in current and next generation IP technologies and protocols.
Prior to creating 6WIND, Eric was Head of the Network Department
at Thales (previously Thomson-CSF), having also previously served
at Dassault Electronique. He managed large teams of advanced R&D
engineers and gained a solid hardware and software development experience
on both professional and military programs. His highly qualified
team of developers was responsible for designing and developing
IP network architectures and COTS technologies for stringent military
programs. They also focused on the development of the new IP technology
IPv6, and worked on application mechanisms running IPv4 and IPv6
side by side, when working for Thomson-CSF and Dassault Electronique
before.
Eric holds a Master of Science degree from both INSA (French University
for Applied Sciences) and ESE (French Electrical Engineering University).
